From Morning Prayer:
Maundy Thursday
"Maundy" means "commandment." This day is named after Jesus' commandment to his disciples to love one another. Maundy Thursday demonstrates the importance of humility and service by remembering Jesus washing the feet of his disciples.
... When He had washed their feet, and taken his garments, and resumed His place, He said to them,
“Do you know what I have done to you?
You call me Teacher and Lord; and you are right, for so I am.
If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that you also should do as I have done to you."
(from the Gospel of Jn 13: 1-15)
I pray that this text finds you being open with God.
I pray that we may all enter the Triduum with humble acceptance.
Please pray for all those listed in all the parts of the litany from Monday (Part 1)(Part 2)(Part 3)(Part 4).
