The Dedication of St. John Lateran Basilica


Jesus went to Jerusalem. He found the selling oxen, sheep and pigeons, and the money-changers. He drove them out of the temple; He poured out their coins and overturned their tables.

The Jews said “What sign have you for doing this?” 

Jesus answered them, 

“Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” 

The Jews said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will you raise it up in three days?”

But He spoke of the temple of his body.

I pray that this text finds you being aware and accurate in our decisions.

I pray that we may all have had a day of remembering who owns our temples.
